AuthBox — End User Licence Agreement

1. The licence you get

When you acquire AuthBox through the Microsoft Store, or through another channel authorised by Hio Mitos, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on the devices that the store you bought it from allows, for as long as these terms are observed.

This licence is for your own use. It does not permit use on behalf of an organisation unless that organisation has acquired its own licences.

2. What this licence does not allow

You may not:

• sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, publish or otherwise redistribute AuthBox, or make it available to anyone else as your own product or as part of one;
• remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other notice contained in the software; or
• decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of AuthBox, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction.

AuthBox is licensed, not sold. Hio Mitos retains ownership of the software and all rights not expressly granted here.

3. Your data, and why nobody can recover it

AuthBox stores your data on your own device, encrypted with a key derived from a master password that you choose. That password is never transmitted anywhere and is never written to disk in any form.

This means, plainly:

• Hio Mitos has no access to your master password or to your data.
• Hio Mitos cannot recover either of them, for anybody, under any circumstances, including for you.
• If you forget your master password, the data protected by it is permanently unreadable. There is no recovery key, no reset and no back door. This is a deliberate design decision, not a limitation to be worked around.

You are solely responsible for remembering your master password, and for keeping your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Nothing in this agreement obliges Hio Mitos to recover data or to restore access to any account, and no support request can change this.

4. Payment and refunds

The price of AuthBox is the one shown by the store at the time you buy it. Purchases, payment and refunds are handled by that store under its own terms and refund policy, not by Hio Mitos.

5. Updates

Updates may be made available from time to time. Unless an update comes with its own licence terms, it is covered by this agreement. Hio Mitos is under no obligation to provide updates, or to continue to offer AuthBox for sale.

6. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AuthBox is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Hio Mitos does not warrant that AuthBox will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Nothing in this section affects rights you have as a consumer under the law of your own country that cannot be excluded or limited by agreement.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hio Mitos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, loss of access to any account, loss of profits or loss of business, arising from or in connection with AuthBox or the use of it, whether in contract, tort or otherwise.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for AuthBox.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by uninstalling AuthBox and deleting your copies.

Sections 2, 3, 6 and 7 survive the end of this licence.
